What this tool does
This tool maps simple CMYK percentages into sRGB-style channel values using a mathematical formula. It is useful for rough screen previews, not for simulating a specific press or printer profile.
Enter the values in the calculator above and choose Calculate. The calculation runs in your browser; the inputs are not intentionally sent to a Colormapped application server.
How it works
- Convert C, M, Y, and K percentages to fractions.
- For each RGB channel, multiply 255 by the remaining color after the chromatic ink and black components.
- Round the three channels to integers.
- Display the resulting screen RGB value and HEX swatch.
Worked example
Input
cmyk(62% 62% 0% 6%)Output
rgb(91, 91, 240)Because the CMYK percentages are rounded, this reverse calculation is close to—but not identical to—the RGB sample used to produce them.
When to use it
- Create a rough screen preview from simple CMYK percentages.
- Translate a print-oriented numeric reference into a web-friendly RGB starting point.
- Compare how rounding changes a CMYK↔RGB round trip.
Accuracy and limits
- No ICC profile or device characterization is applied.
- A screen preview cannot reproduce paper, ink density, fluorescence, or press conditions.
